Oven-Baked Baby Back Ribs with Fancy Hank’s BBQ Sauce
No smoker? No dramas. These oven-baked ribs bring the BBQ flavour without ever leaving the kitchen. Tender, sticky, fall-off-the-bone perfection—just let the rubs, sauce, and time do the heavy lifting.
Serves:
- 4 (with sides)
- 2 (if you’re both properly hungry)
Ingredients:
- 1 rack of baby back ribs
- Fancy Hank’s BBQ Pepper
- Fancy Hank’s Taco Rub
- Fancy Hank’s Original BBQ Sauce
- Mustard of your choice (we like something with a bit of heat)
Method:
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Trim any excess fat from the ribs.
- Flip the ribs and remove the membrane from the back: slide a knife under it, loosen it, then use a paper towel to peel it off in one go.
- Rub both sides of the ribs with mustard to help the seasoning stick.
- Then coat generously with Fancy Hank’s BBQ Pepper and Taco Rub.
- Place ribs meat-side up on a baking tray or dish (uncovered) and bake for 2 hours.
- After 2 hours, remove from the oven and slather both sides with Fancy Hank’s Original BBQ Sauce.
- Wrap tightly in foil and return to the oven for 1 more hour.
- Remove foil, baste again with BBQ Sauce, and bake uncovered for another hour, brushing with more sauce every 20 minutes for that glossy, sticky finish.
- Slice between the bones into riblets and serve hot.
Pro Tip:
Pair with slaw, cornbread or just a stack of napkins and your favourite beer. Leftovers make a killer rib sandwich (if there are any).
