RESTAURANT QUESTIONS
Do you have gluten free options?
All of our meats are gluten-free and we’ve got loads of GF sides and snacks too. Just ask!
Do you have vegan or vegetarian options?
Two-thirds of our menu is vegetarian! And we can also cater for Vegans. Not bad for a barbecue joint, right? All of our meats are gluten-free and we’ve got loads of GF sides and snacks too. Just ask!
Other dietary restrictions are outlined on our digital menu, and our staff can assist during your visit.
Are your meats Halal?
Our meat smoker contains food that is not halal so we cannot offer halal meats.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately due to the age of the building we do not have an elevator so access to Fancy Hank’s is via stairs only.
The venue has both paper menus and utilises Me&U online ordering, which is compatible with screen readers.
Can I order takeaway?
We’ve got limited takeaway options during service, but we can organise larger orders with advance notice.

What parking is available?
There is limited street parking on Bourke St in front of the restaurant, most bays have a limit of 1P (one hour) during the day. After 6.30pm, many bays have a limit of 2P (two hours). Most restrictions in the CBD end at 8.30pm.
There are also a number of commercial car parks nearby with the closet being Wilsons Parking and Safe City Car Park both accessible from Little Collins St.
Is there public transport nearby?
The nearest tram stop is at Bourke St & Spring St which serve the 86 and 96 tram lines. The nearest train station is Parliament which has a subway entrance on the corner of Bourke St & Spring St
Do you have highchairs?
The restaurant has a limited number of high chairs available. These are compatible with tables in the window section. Please make a note when making a reservation if you require a highchair.
Can I bring a cake in for a birthday
Reservations are able to bring in a cake for your celebration. Please note; we aren’t able to store these in the venue and we don’t cut or serve the cake for the table.

I have a large group - do you have set menus available?
For groups of 10 or more, we require a platter selection ahead of time.
These are designed to be shared and come in three tiers, so you’ll choose one option for the whole group. It keeps things easy, tasty, and rolling out hot from the smoker.
I forgot to get a receipt. Can you help?

Is Fancy Hank’s kid-friendly?
Our menu and service style aren’t designed with children in mind — but that doesn’t mean they won’t enjoy it. We have a limited number of high chairs available if needed.
For groups of 10 or more, we require platter selections. If your group includes kids, please email our team at hank@fancyhanks.com and we’ll help tailor your reservation.
Do you sell gift cards?
We do, and there are two kinds:
- A restaurant gift card for dining at Fancy Hank’s (perfect for the meat lovers).
- An online store gift card for sauces, merch and more.

Do I need a booking?
Bookings are recommended, especially for larger groups or weekends.
But we always leave space for walk-ins — swing by and we’ll do our best to fit you in.
Do you take group bookings or functions?

Are you open on public holidays?
Yep, we’re open most public holidays. We apply a 20% surcharge to cover these dates.
Do I need to pre-order for a group booking?
Yep — for groups of 10 or more, we require you to dine on our platter option. These are designed for the whole table to dig into together.
We’ve got plenty of options to pick from, and you’ll select one option for the whole group.
Is a deposit required?
A deposit depends on the time of your reservation. Groups of 10 or more pay in advance.

Will the menu be the same as what’s listed?
Generally, yes — but some seasonal variations might occur depending on availability.
If there’s something you’ve got your heart set on (like ribs), we recommend requesting it in advance and we’ll do our best to make it happen.
Do you offer drinks packages?

When do I need to confirm guest numbers?
We’ll need your final guest count 7 days before the event, so we can prep the perfect feast and keep the beer cold.
I lost something at the venue — what do I do?
Lost something? Submit a lost property request here.
We hold onto items for 72 hours, then donate what we can to nearby charities or dispose of it appropriately.
Can I get a copy of my receipt?
Sure thing.
Request a receipt here, and our team will send it through as soon as possible.
