  • Where can I park?

    Street parking on Bourke St has 1P limits during the day and 2P after 6:30pm, with most restrictions lifting at 8:30pm. The nearest car parks are Wilsons Parking and Safe City Car Park, both accessible from Little Collins St.

  • How do I get there by public transport?

    The nearest tram stop is stop 10 on Bourke St & Spring St, serviced by the 86 and 96 tram lines. Parliament Station is also on the same corner, with a subway entrance at Bourke St & Spring St.

  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

    Access to Fancy Hank's is via stairs only — our heritage building doesn't have a lift. We apologise for the inconvenience .

  • Do you have gluten free options?

    All of our meats are gluten-free, and we have plenty of GF sides and snacks too. Please note that our kitchen handles gluten-containing ingredients, so we can't guarantee a fully coeliac-safe environment. Ask our staff on the day and we'll do our best to help.

  • Do you have vegan or vegetarian options?

    Two-thirds of our menu is vegetarian, and we cater for vegans too — not bad for a BBQ joint.

  • Are your meats Halal?

    Our smoker contains non-halal food, so we're unable to offer halal meats.

  • What about other dietary restrictions?

    Dietary information is listed on our digital menu. Our staff are happy to help with any questions during your visit. For anything specific, email us at hank@fancyhanks.com ahead of time.

  • Do you sell out of dishes?

    Because our meats are smoked for up to 16 hours, once we run out, we run out. If you'd like to make sure a dish is available, you can pre-order it.

  • Does your menu change?

    Some items vary depending on seasonal and supplier availability. We try to keep our menu up to date here, but occasionally there will be last minute changes.

  • Do I need a booking?

    Bookings are recommended, especially for larger groups or weekends. We always keep space for walk-ins — swing by and we'll do our best to fit you in. Book a table

  • Do you take group bookings or private functions?

    Absolutely. Head to our Functions Page for more on group bookings and exclusive hire options.

  • I have a large group — is there a set menu?

    For groups of 10 or more, we ask you to select from our platter menu ahead of time. Platters come in three tiers and are designed for the whole table to share — keeping things easy and rolling out hot from the smoker.

  • Do I need to pre-order for a group booking?

    Yep — for groups of 10 or more, we require you to dine on our platter option. These are designed for the whole table to dig into together.

    We’ve got plenty of options to pick from, and you’ll select one option for the whole group.

  • Is a deposit required?

    A deposit depends on the time of your reservation. Groups of 10 or more pay in advance.

  • Do you offer drinks packages?

    Yes. Check out our Functions Page for beverage packages, or get in touch and we'll walk you through the options.

  • For function bookings, when do I need to confirm guest numbers?

    We’ll need your final guest count 10 business days before the event, so we can prep the perfect feast for your event.

  • Are you open on public holidays?

    Yes, we're open most public holidays. A 20% surcharge applies on these dates.

  • Is Fancy Hank’s kid-friendly?

    Our menu and service style aren't designed specifically for children, but plenty of little ones enjoy it. We have a limited number of high chairs available, compatible with tables in the window section — please note this when booking.

  • Can I bring a cake?

    Yes — you're welcome to bring a cake for your celebration. Please note we're unable to store it at the venue beforehand, and we don't cut or serve it for the table.

  • Can I order takeaway?

    Takeaway isn't a core part of what we do, but we can arrange larger orders with advance notice. Email hank@fancyhanks.com and we'll sort something out.

  • I lost something at the venue — what do I do?

    Submit a lost property request here. Due to limited storage space at the venue, we hold items for 72 hours, after which we donate what we can to local charities or dispose of it appropriately — so get in touch quickly.

  • Can I get a copy of my receipt?

    Yes. Request a receipt here and our team will send it through as soon as possible.

  • Something didn’t live up to expectations — can I let someone know?

    We're very open to feedback. Letting us know when it happens gives us more options to help resolve your problem. But if you'd like to give feedback after you visit, please email hank@fancyhanks.com and a member of our team will be in touch to make things right.

  • I had a great time — how can I leave a review?

    That's great to hear! Leaving a review means the world to our team and is a great way to support our business. Leave us a review

  • Do you sell gift cards?

    We do, and there are two kinds:

    • You can purchase gift cards for the restaurant here.
    • If you're looking for a gift card to buy our sauces and seasonings on our online store, go here.

    We use different systems for our online store and our restaurant so unfortunately they can't be used interchangeably.

  • How do I join the team?

    The Fancy Hank's Group runs three of Melbourne's leading CBD venues. We're always looking for passionate people who love great food, drinks, and good company.
